Steve Garvey
Grand Marshal

Steve Garvey is a 19-year Major League Baseball GREAT, 10-time All-Star and a National League Most Valuable Player. A 4-time Gold Glove winner, 2-time All-Star Game MVP, 2-time NL Championship Series MVP and a past World Series Champion! 

 

Dr. Christa Glembocki
Education Grand Marshal

Dr. Christa Glembocki is the proud principal of Dwyer Middle School in the Huntington Beach City School DIstrict. She has been principal for the past six years and truly enjoys serving in the city she calls home. Under Dr. Glembocki’s leadership, Dwyer has been named a California Distinguished School, a California Exemplary Arts School, and a California Pivotal Practice School. She and her team have also helped develop many teacher and student leaders to enact successful programs, such as the positive behavior system called GRIT, a social-emotional wellness advisory period, and several arts and industry programs that prepare students for high school and beyond. Dr. Glembocki is a recent graduate of the University of Southern California’s doctorate in Educational Leadership, as well as being named both the Orange County and California State Middle Grades Principal of the Year from the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA). 

Cris Cyborg
Sports Grand Marshal

Brazilian Born MMA Champion Cris Cyborg earned her American Citizenship in 2016. The only Grand Slam Champion in the sport of Mixed Martial Arts, the current Bellator MMA Champion and former UFC, Invicta FC, and Strikeforce Champion; Cris Cyborg is considered by many as the greatest female combat sports athlete of all time. Active in her community and abroad, many consider the humanitarian and community service work she does outside of the cage to be her lasting legacy. As a resident of Huntington Beach since 2015 Cris Cyborg feels honored to represent the city during the annual 4th of July Parade Celebrations for 2023.

 

Pai Family & Huntington Surf & Sport Team
Community Grand Marshal

The Fourth of July Executive Board is pleased to announce the Pai Family and Huntington Surf & Sport Team as Community Grand Marshal for the 2023 4th of July Parade and Celebration.  Aaron Pai and wife Sher, have four children and 10 grandchildren. Everyone in the Pai Family love the ocean and surfing. They are also the founders of “The Surfers’ Hall of Fame” and “Huntington Surf & Sport”.


They have been a proud sponsor of the Huntington Beach 4th of July Celebration for 6 years. They truly love the community and this parade!!!

 


Madison Taylor Baez
Celebrity Guest

Madison Taylor Baez is a rising star in Hollywood. At just 12 years old the Orange County native has starred in three of the biggest shows on television within the past three years. Most recently on season 17 of NBC’s America’s Got Talent where she received Howie Mandel’s golden buzzer for her viral singing performance of Amazing Grace which had 80 million views world wide. She also starred as Vampire Eleanor Kane on Showtime’s Let The Right One In, and as young Selena Quintanilla in Netflix’s Selena The Series.

 

Doris Zavala
WWII Veteran Honoree

Doris Zavala was Tech Sergeant stationed in Fort Des Moines, Iowa from January 1943 – December 1945. She was then transferred to serve as a member of the 8225 WAC Batallion in Toyko, Japan from January 1946 – June 1948.  Doris will be celebrating her 104th birthday on November 20th of this year.

Robert St. Paul
WWII Veteran Honoree 

Robert St. Paul served in the US Army, Pacific theater, WWII and remained in the military after the war. He was sent to Korea during WWII to halt the Russian advance.

Coast Guard Captain Ryan Manning

Captain Ryan Manning currently serves as the Captain of the Port of Los Angeles – Long Beach and is the Commander of Coast Guard Sector Los Angeles – Long Beach, leading a team of 550 active duty, reserve, and civilian personnel and a 750-member volunteer Auxiliary workforce. This team facilitates regional partnerships and conducts federal maritime safety, security, law enforcement and environmental protection operations throughout the central California coast and within the United States’ largest container port complex.
